
Broomfield Per Citizen Spending for Operations, Capital Improvement, and Debt Service, From 2017 - 2026

Spending by the City and County of Broomfield has steadily and significantly increased over the last several years.
In particular, spending has increased substantially in the areas of Operations, Capital Improvement, and Debt Service. The Broomfield Council and Broomfield Staff have direct oversight of these areas, which they impact with their policy and budget priority decisions.
When looking at Broomfield’s spending in these specific areas, as it equates to spending for each man, woman, and child in Broomfield, per-citizen spending has increased by 124.8% between 2017 and 2025. Based upon Broomfield’s 2026 Proposed Budget, per-citizen spending is set to increase by 185.8% compared to 2017.
