The Whole Picture
A recent reading the Sunday Denver Post this March, there is something important to realize - The prospective of the writer shades the view presented. This is often done subtly with a presentation of data “facts” or just some limited facts and data. So what is the real message that is being sent to us by the writer?
It is here that we must go beyond what the writer presented to us, as always, the devil is in the details is more true than ever. Presenting “facts” while knowing that most readers won’t go to the source to understand what is actually being said. Having gone to the source myself, even then it is very difficult to understand them.
These “professional” writers of opinion and social influence are leading you to their desired conclusion, but not providing the information needed to reach an informed balanced opinion. Simply stated, they make us emotionally connect to their desired conclusion and not let our logic and reasoning influence our understanding.
The real scary thing here is that the media, motivated by a shared agenda rather than presenting “facts” is doing this. As Paul Harvey uses to say in his radio broadcast after presenting his initial story, “Page 2” and then “the rest of the story”.
Today more than ever we need page 2 and the rest of the story. Regardless of what the person behind the curtain in this land of Oz, wants us to believe. Be a sheep dog, not a sheep.
