Hospital beds not being used, staff being reduced
Contributed by David Beacom from Broomfield Taxpayer Matters
I listen to and read what Broomfield Council, what the Broomfield Public Health Director and the State have been putting out. Are you like me, feeling that real facts and data are not being provided to us. We get a lot of words but not much meat to work with. The following is an example of an area that is not clearly explained but is used to justify actions.
See Dr. Erickson COVID 19 Briefing on 22 Apr 2020. This briefing is based on data developed by the Doctor and his group (real data not theory). Extremely informative and it also shows the inability of the media to accept any hard data that conflicts with their innate bias for worse possible and unproven fear factors.
There are things that we need to know about hospitals in Colorado and Broomfield.
First, how many beds do the hospitals in Broomfield have? Next, how many, if any, are ICU/ER or setup for COVID 19? Also, how many hospital beds are in Colorado and separately how many in the Denver Metroplex Region? Again what is total beds, what is the total of ICU/ER and COVID 19 beds in Colorado and Denver Metroplex?
Second, how many beds in each reference above are in use now? And for what services?
Third, what is the availability of each type bed and in particular how many open COVID 19 beds exist in each area referenced above?
The reason this is important, other than just for transparency, is to let the residents know how much bed availability there is in Broomfield, the Denver Metroplex and Colorado. it just seems like the politicians don’t want us to know important details. Why is that?
If we have the facts and the data we can evaluate and make informed decisions on how best to move forward. We are not sheep and they are not God.
