New Citizen Group Created to Inform Broomfield Taxpayers
For Immediate Release
Broomfield Taxpayer Matters, a new non-profit group has formed to lend a voice to the hardworking taxpayers of Broomfield, Colorado.
On March 20, 2020 an information sharing and advocacy organization was formed by local residents to lend a voice to the taxpaying citizens of Broomfield and to shed light on the City and County of Broomfield and Broomfield City Council, their actions and decisions, as it pertains to their management of over $390 million of taxpayer money.
Broomfield Taxpayer Matters’ (BTM) primary purpose is to support, moderate, challenge, educate, and engage citizens on the activities of the City and County of Broomfield and Broomfield City Council. BTM is here to provide an avenue for Broomfield taxpayers seeking support in getting their voices heard and in having their values and priorities reflected in the ordinances, mandates and expenditures imposed on them by City and County of Broomfield.
Most taxpayers are focused on providing for their families and living their lives. It is often difficult to sit through a 5 hour city council meeting, stay informed on decisions and declarations by the Broomfield city manager(s), try to make sense of what was discussed and what it means personally to each taxpayer let alone follow up with taking action. Often city council is making huge decisions with massive implications that may or may not be in the civic or fiduciary best interest of the taxpayer. BTM and its community partners have come together to bring the city’s affairs to the taxpayer.
Broomfield Taxpayer Matters is here to join forces with the people of Broomfield. We will attend city council meetings, monitor the various boards (i.e. - Broomfileld Board of Health) that are convened by the city council, review the city’s communications and websites and announcements, review news articles, and share information and perspectives with citizens through social media and other means, all in an effort to shed light on the issues that matter most to the Broomfield residents.
Broomfield Taxpayer Matters invites you to engage! We ask the community to take action when we identify injustice. Please follow us on Facebook (Broomfield Taxpayer Matters) and sign up for our newsletter at Broomfieldtaxpayermatters.com.
We welcome community comments and questions at broomfieldtaxpayermatters@gmail.com and media inquiries at broomfieldtaxpayermatters@gmail.com
